A unique combination of adventure travel with conservation and community projects, providing immense variety and a real insight into this wonderful country. Venture off to the shores of Lake Malawi to the award winning Nkwichi Safari Lodge, built on a 100,000-acre private concession hugging some of Lake Malawi’s wildest coast and pristine beaches. Lake Malawi is 350 miles long and 50 miles wide and is one of the Great Rift Valley lakes. It is famous for the clear, warm, pure water providing excellent snorkelling with millions of brightly coloured tropical fish. The Lodge was built and is owned/managed by Patrick Simkin and his partner Nadia, who are overall in charge and responsible for founding the Manda Wilderness Trust. The Trust has single-handedly developed life changing community and conservation projects that greatly need your help. On a daily basis you will venture by canoe down the Lake to visit the project sites becoming involved in teaching, building, farming, maternity clinics and anti poaching campaigns. This project is unique in that the communities are the poorest we have ever been involved with. The projects are simple, yet life changing and your help will make a profound difference. On your time off you will be able to make full use of the lake with all the water sports on offer, venture into the bush on safari or simply sail peacefully down the lake on an African dhow.
